A great opportunity to have your paper spread beyond the Dredging Days
Science moves fastest when the right people are in the same room. That is exactly the spirit behind this collaboration.
Frontiers is one of the world’s leading open-access publishers; built on the belief that research should reach everyone, not just those behind institutional paywalls. Across science, technology, and medicine, millions of readers turn to Frontiers every month for peer-reviewed work that matters.
Frontiers in Marine Science sits at the heart of that mission. With a 3.0 Impact Factor, 5.8 CiteScore, and over 231,000 citations, it is where the global ocean and coastal science community publishes, reads, and connects.
This particular collaboration started with a conversation. Dr. Ing. José A. A. Antolínez (TU Delft), Specialty Chief Editor of our Solutions for Ocean and Coastal Systems section, coordinator of the Dredging for Sustainable Infrastructure course at TU Delft, and involved in the Dredging Days Technical Paper Committee, saw an opportunity to increase the impact of the Dredging Days beyond the conference itself. He wanted the ideas debated in these rooms to outlast the event itself: published, citable, and freely accessible to researchers and practitioners worldwide.
The outcome is a dedicated Research Topic, open for submissions now:
Transforming Dredging Practices for Sustainable Ocean and Coastal Systems Edited by José A. A. Antolínez & Rudy Helmons, TU Delft.
From zero-emission dredging and sediment management to nature-based solutions, ecosystem restoration, and climate adaptation, this collection is designed to capture the full breadth of what this community is working on. Original Research, Reviews, Perspectives, and Mini Reviews are all welcome.
If your work belongs in the conversation, it belongs in this collection. The submission link will be shared with all speakers shortly. If you have any questions, please reach out to José through the conference app or email J.A.A.Antolinez@tudelft.nl.
